It's the first fight that Canelo Alvarez will have in 2021, scheduled for next Saturday, February 27, but for a few weeks, it has remained under concentration and hard training to take down who will be its next opponent.
The fight's venue will be at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, where both professional boxers will expose their world champion titles from the World Boxing Association's super-middleweight division and the World Boxing Council.
The pandemic failed to stop the fight, as has happened with other events. Even the stadium will welcome the public, but under strict health protocol and keeping the healthy distance to reduce contagion risk.
Staff organizing the event consider receiving a capacity of 15,000 fans, resulting in less than half the capacity of the stadium, as they wanted to accommodate 65,000 people.
The reduction in entries is due to the COVID-19 pandemic still in force, and people must keep the healthy distance that health authorities have recommended. It is also not known what protocol will use upon the arrival of the attendees.
