Saúl Canelo Alvarez is excited about his next fight to be held on February 27 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
However, it has not been the only time he has traveled to this city to face his rival, so here we tell you how many times he has fought in this city of the United States.
This fight will open the year for the boxer, and his rival will be Turkish boxer Avni Yildirim,29, who has been inactive for two long years.
This date will not be his first fight in Miami, but previously he had had a showdown, though not in the same stadium.
Canelo Alvarez had his first showdown in Miami on December 5, 2008, when he climbed into Miccosukee Indian Gaming Resort's ring to face Raúl Pinzon.
At the time, Saúl Alvarez had only three years in professional boxing, while their opponent already had a record of 16 20th and one loss.
That wasn't an impediment to Canelo, who proved talented enough above the ring to get the win without having to reach the cards when he ended up with a KO.
Now, Saúl Canelo Alvarez will return to Miami after 12 years. With a record of 54 fights, 36 for KO, one defeat, and two draw to face Turkish Avni Yildirim and defend his world champion titles from the world's super median weight division of the World Boxing Association and world boxing council.
Let us remember that Canelo Alvarez's last fight last December 2020 against Briton Callum Smith. That was the only confrontation he had that year due to the pandemic.
However, this 2021 seems to have a different picture because Canelo already has two other fights scheduled, of which the details are still unknown.
